Top Rated Robot Vacuums
A robot vacuum is able to keep floors clean enough to reduce the frequency at which you need to manually vacuum. Pick a robot vacuum that has good navigation, can clean corners and stairs and has a large bin that only needs to be emptying every so often.
There are also models that can mop and charge on their own which can be beneficial for those with pets or children. A majority of the top performers in our tests have excellent ability to overcome obstacles.
1. IRobot Roomba i3+ EVO
The i3+ EVO and its i3 EVO sibling the i3 EVO are the same robots that differ only in that the i3+ has self-emptying capabilities. This makes the i3+ a great option for those who want a hands-off, fully automated cleaning experience, but don't mind manually emptying their robot's dustbin when it is full.
robot vacuum cleaner for sale are adept at picking up surface debris on carpets and hard floors, and they are very good at moving around furniture and other obstacles. iAdapt navigation software makes a smart map of your home to assist the i3+ to navigate and clean up efficiently. However unlike the i7+ and other top-rated robots we test the i3+ doesn't have obstacle-avoidance capabilities which means it can get stuck on things like socks or power cords, and it can have difficulty navigating across surface transitions like from hardwood to carpet.
iRobot recommends clearing areas that the i3+ EVO will vacuum before you use it, and include putting away any toys or clutter it might encounter. You should also keep the dustbin and filter free of dirt to prevent them from getting blocked. When the i3+'s internal bin is full or the battery is low it goes back to its docking station and automatically emptying its trash into the station's dust bin and then resumes cleaning the area where it began. The i3+ EVO's batteries last for about an hour and a half of continuous use, and takes about three hours to recharge.
2. iRobot Roomba i7+
The iRobot Roomba i7+ is the top model of the flagship line from iRobot and has the most up-to-date features. It's self-charging and self-navigating. the most important feature of all -- it has an auto-emptying dustbin, which eliminates one of the primary sources of maintenance for any robot vacuum.
The Roomba I7+ is able to make rooms more efficient maps using Imprint Smart Mapping. It also works with iRobot Home to schedule cleaning tasks, and it can control your robot via the app or via voice.
In our testing, the i7+ was quicker and more maneuverable than our second-placed model and the eufy RoboVac G30, and it removed large chunks of pet hair from all surfaces kinds, including carpeting. Its greatest advantage over the Eufy is its self-emptying garbage bin which eliminates major sources of maintenance and reduces the cost of maintenance.
We were also awestruck by the i7+'s integration with Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant AI services which we used to instruct the robot to start, stop or pause its cleaning routines, move itself around the room and sweep the area. The iRobot Home App made it easy to connect the i7+ with these services. Once connected, to voice commands to the i7+, for example "Hey Alexa vacuum the master bedroom." The iRobot Home app also provides options for managing the i7+'s settings and monitoring its performance.
3. Dyson Cyclone V10

This tiny Dyson model is an all-sports car in a sea of vacuums powered by cordless that resemble minivans and buses. It's got the power and features to replace a stand-up vacuum in many households and can fit nicely on the table for a coffee or shelves that you can spin around like the magic device.
The V10 is powered with seven cells of energy-dense Lithium-ion batteries that produces energy that lasts for 60 minutes. The sophisticated whole-machine filter system traps allergens, then releases cleaner air into your home. Its specialized cleaning head drives stiff nylon bristles deep into carpet to collect large particles and fine dust. It has three suction modes that can be adapted to the specific task. It quickly switches from handheld vacuum to floor vacuum and back.
This model comes with an attached dock that charges the Dyson to 100% within 3.5 hours. It also provides easy access to 2 attachments as well as an Wand. This is a huge improvement over earlier Dysons which require a long charge and are difficult to store.
The main drawback of the V10 is its sluggish run time. Its marketing claims that it has up to 60 minutes of run time are misleading, as CR's testing shows. This is a typical battery-powered cordless vacuum's run time. It's still enough time to get rid of the majority of an average-sized house however, it's not enough to cover every spot (though the second time around usually will suffice). However, this model doesn't have its advantages: It's lighter and mobile than the older cordless Dysons, and its vacuuming performance is noticeably better on carpets with low pile.
4. iRobot Roomba 694"
One of iRobot's most popular robot vacuums the 694 is a basic model that's a good choice for people who don't want to spend too much money on a robot. It's capable of sucking up most kinds of debris in our tests, and it frequently goes over the same areas several times to ensure a thorough clean. Its flat front side helps it to reach into corners and along the walls' edges which is a nice feature.
Its navigation system is smart and uses iAdapt technology to stay clear of obstacles and guide you through your home. It's not equipped with the capabilities for mapping of more advanced models, including our top picks, the i3+EVO and j7+ Series. It may get stuck on phone cords or low furniture and is often unable to supply power before returning to its original location.
The Xiaomi Mi robot vacuum is superior to the Roomba 694 in most respects in that it has fewer components that need regular cleaning, is fitted with an allergen-trapping HEPA filter, incurs lower recurring costs, comes with more advanced automation capabilities and does a better job maneuvering itself. It also has a larger dustbin and can charge faster.
The sleek RoboVac X8 has a superior battery longevity than the Roomba 694. It also has physical boundaries strips that can be controlled using your smartphone's voice assistance. It also feels better-built and has a stronger motor, and works better on both bare floors and carpets with a low pile, as well as providing a wider array of automation options.
5. Samsung Jet Bot AI+
Samsung is a household name in the field of home electronics. It's not a surprise, then, that they are also among the top producers of robot vacuums and mop. Their Jet Bot AI+ is loaded with cutting-edge onboard intelligence tech for navigation and obstacle avoidance.
The app provides a range of options to customize your robotic cleaner. These include mopping levels, virtual barriers and behavior adjustments, docking frequency settings and many more. The app is easy to navigate and use, just like other Samsung devices.
In our testing of the Jet Bot AI+ excelled on hard floors, and also handled dog hair (on carpet) quite well, clearing up 86% of it. It did not do well in avoiding taller items such as cords or socks. This was disappointing. It's also more expensive than the other models we've tested and this could be a deterrent for some buyers.
The app lets you access the onboard camera of the smart vacuum. You can also set up live streaming from the robot's area of cleaning. This feature allows you to check in on your children or pets while you are away. The dustbin and the filter can be cleaned to ensure the quick and easy cleaning. The Jet Bot AI+ also has a clean station that self-empties to keep the robot's dustbin clear and maximizes suction power for each cleaning.
6. Black & Decker Robot Vacuum
Black and Decker robots have been developed specifically for flooring made of hard wood. They come with a wide cleaning path as well as a large dustbin that holds 2X more debris than other models to keep the cleaning area clean for the longest time. The POWERSERIES Extreme model also comes with AutoSense technology, which senses if it's picking up dirt on surfaces or embedded dirt and automatically adjusts its power level. The vacuum also has an app that allows users to see an interactive map, control functions, and set schedules. You can also check the status of the vacuum and connect it to its dock for charging at the touch of a single button. The app also lets you to personalize the lights on top of the vacuum with different colors so you can easily tell the areas where it's focused or where it's got stuck.
The app also makes it easy to manually steer the robot in the event of need. My living room rug, for example, has a darkly-colored border which could cause a problem for other robots. The HRV 425BL, however continued to travel across the border without registering the edge. The ability to set up the weekly cleaning schedule is a great time-saving convenience.
